The U.S. Department of Education* makes 7 RECOMMENDATIONS:
US DEPT. of EDUCATION says: directly relate PD to the content taught by the teacher.
Our content relates to the CMT skills in math, reading, and science.
US DEPT. of EDUCATION says: include other members of the school community in PD sessions.
We invite classroom teachers, interventionists, special education, ELL, RTI leaders, Principal, District administrators, Board of Education, and PTO members to participate.
US DEPT. of EDUCATION says: be consistent with the technology goals in the district.
We provide hands-on experience of CMT games and data to accelerate achievement.
US DEPT. of EDUCATION says: provide an opportunity for meaningful engagement with colleagues and materials.
We offer an initial survey of attendees’ needs and current practices, data discussions, brainstorming about effective interventions, and use data from attendees’ current classes.
US DEPT. of EDUCATION says: address different levels of teachers’ knowledge, skills and interest.
We do individual technology coaching and organize break-out groups based on interests.
US DEPT. of EDUCATION says: deliver training over multiple sessions.
We offer training over 2 or 3 sessions depending on time available. We also offer year-long e-mail and phone coaching whenever needed.
US DEPT. of EDUCATION says: include follow-up activities.
We ask attendees to complete surveys that report on follow-up work..
